Earlier this year, we launched our Take 20, Read Plenty campaign encouraging parents and caregivers to read at least 20 minutes a day with a child.
Why Take 20, Read Plenty? Research shows that just 20 minutes improves a child’s vocabulary, nurtures learning and helps with school readiness. Not to mention—it’s really fun!
With help from our friends Amy Rule, Dr. Dana Suskin and Commissioner Brian Bannon, we kicked off our Take 20, Ready Plenty campaign and want YOU to join!
To take the pledge, visit any CPL location and sign the Take 20, Read Plenty poster or visit www.chipublib.org/Ipledge20. You can also take the pledge by posting on social media with #IPledge20.
You’ll have plenty of opportunities to read 20 minutes a day this summer with our annual Rahm’s Readers Summer Learning Challenge, launching June 8. Stay tuned for more details!
