This year we spotlight teen voices in our Teen Chicago Travel Guide.
Marco M. visited the SkyART Art Center, which provides a safe, accessible space for young people to participate in visual arts programming on Chicago's South Side.
Marco's Story: I went to SkyART Art Center in the South Chicago neighborhood. What caught my eye was the artwork created by students that hangs on the walls of the building (pictured), and the studios filled with kids having fun and enjoying themselves.
I think other teens would be interested in the fact that SkyART is free to attend, which really separates it from other art studios. Teens can express themselves for free instead of having to pay hefty prices for art supplies.
My trip to SkyART changed me because I learned something new about the community and the resources it provides.
Thanks for sharing your observations, Marco!
