This year we spotlight teen voices in our Teen Chicago Travel Guide.
Megan A. visited the Adler Planetarium, explored the exhibits and took pictures of the Chicago skyline.
Megan's Story: The Adler Planetarium really tries to make cosmology and astronomy accessible to the everyday person. I have always loved physics, but actually seeing it applied and being used to help people is so wonderful.
During my visit, there was an observatory which was open so people could view sunspots. There were also some really interesting shows, like Planet Nine, which was all about the possibility of other planets in the solar system. Overall, the planetarium is a great place to hang out with friends. It's out on the lake, so all of the views are amazing and it is just a really fun place to hang out.
Megan's Inspiration: Bill Nye and Neil deGrasse Tyson; books like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and The Long Earth; movies like Spaceballs and Guardians of the Galaxy; and artists like David Bowie and Modest Mouse.
Thanks for sharing your interplanetary exploration, Megan!
