This year we spotlight teen voices in our Teen Chicago Travel Guide.
Weronika P. visited the Chicago Zoological Society's Brookfield Zoo and checked out the Great Bear Wilderness.
Weronika's Story: During the weekend I went to Brookfield Zoo with my family. Something that really caught my attention was the grizzly bears in the water. They looked so cute and cuddly, mostly when they swam in the water right next to everyone. Right there I had the closest contact with the bear. The only thing that separated the bear from me was the big glass window. It was such a crazy and beautiful experience.
My experience was fascinating; I learned a lot about the animals and at the same time I had lots of fun. I think the Brookfield Zoo would interest other teens for a date or just hanging out with friends. This is a spectacular way to see and learn about animals and their living environment.
Weronika's Inspiration: A series that has always inspired me to explore new places is Curious George. The book Margret & H.A. Rey's Curious George Visits the Zoo has inspired me to visit the zoo since I was a child.
Thanks for sharing your animal adventures, Weronika!
