Teens, learn about ethnic and folk dance customs from around the world this summer at Edgewater Branch.
Teen Dance Workshop: Belly Dancing is August 29. Teen Dance Workshop: Brazilian Samba is August 30. A final showcase event is also in the works.
Guest presenters include Ayodele Drum and Dance, Culture Shock Chicago and Pineapple Dance Studio.
Edgewater's teen librarian, Shira, says teens are eager to learn more about dance. Shira, who loved dancing when she was a teen, says the dance events also help teens learn more about the different ethnic groups that make up their diverse community.
