Teens, check out these opportunities for you to celebrate diversity this month at Chicago Public Library:
- For starters, if you haven't been to third floor Maker Lab at Harold Washington Library Center, you can get there this month to make a 3D Braille Nameplate!.
- Strike a pose and take pictures at what's bound to be an amazing gender non-confirming fashion show for all shapes and abilities with Rebirth Garments; don't miss the Radical Visibility Fashion Show scheduled at Harold Washington Library Center on July 19.
- There's also an opportunity to listen to Reader's Theatre performances by Telling Tales Theatre capturing the stories of teen writers, and based on true stories, in "I Am Who I Am" scheduled at Sulzer Regional Library on July 22. All should come prepared to laugh, cry and fall in love with each featured young adult.
- You can also meet educators from WE and work on their campaign, WE Are One! at Chicago Public Library branches across the city. Work with other teens to explore inclusive design, making our interactions, experiences and environments can be more welcoming for everyone, plus make a positive difference to your social-emotional environment in Chicago as part of Imagine Doing More!
- Last, but not least, there are some great teen books about differently abled individuals plus film screenings at the library.
