Recently Bezazian Branch was lucky enough to gain a few new staff members. If you haven't met them yet we hope you will soon. Angie comes to us from Literature and Language at the Harold Washington Library Center and Laura just started at the Chicago Public Library a few months ago, but has many years of experience working in other library systems.
We are very excited and will be taking advantage of their new energy to bring all sorts of interesting programming to Bezazian Branch. Please stay tuned as many of these programs, such as a book club at the Green Mill and a neighborhood history project, will start this fall.
The entire reference staff is pictured in a cardboard cutout Jeepney that was at Bezazian Branch for an Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month celebration. These folk art painted gems are a popular form of public transportation in the Philippines, evolving from the Jeeps the U.S. left behind during World War II.
